THE 17TH. DIVISION IN WWII


My Uncle was a Paratrooper in the U.S. Army's 17th. Airborne Division in WWII. He was Wounded in Action with the Advance Group of Paratroopers in "Operation Varsity" while crossing the Rhine near Wesel, Germany. On March 16, 1945, he Died of his Wounds & was Buried in the U.S. Military Cemetary at Margraten, Holland. He was later returned to the U.S. for Burial in Illinois. I don`t have any pictures of him as I was not born yet, but I do remember seeing an old black & white picture of him in his Paratrooper Uniform when I was a young girl. God Bless those who Fought & Died in WWII & all other Wars. Always Remember them & let us Never Forget what they died for.
